ICB Dark Whelping Project

Litter Registration For Dark Whelping Consulting

Picture
DARK WHELPING PROJECT
ICB is conducting a breeder-funded reserach project to determine if we can prevent uterine inertia by controlling light in the whelping room. We will monitor health of the puppies whelped in the project for comparison with puppies whelped when uterine inertia was not prevented.

There is a $550 fee to register your litter. You will receive personal guidance about setting up your whelping room suitable for Dark Whelping about a week before whelping. The whelping process will be monitored from video feed from first signs of labor until all puppies are born, and guidance provided to the breeder as appropriate and necessary to minimize the risk of uterine inertia.

COURSE ABOUT LIGHT AND CANINE REPRODUCTION
Course (live taped lectures) to begin 6 May 2026 : "From Breeding to Weaning: The Critical Importance Of Light" is included in the litter registration.
There will be 7 live 90 minute lectures, weekly on Wednesdays via Zoom. All lectures video taped and available on the course website. Course starts Wednesday 29 April. All lectures at 8-9:30 PM EST (5-6:30 pm PST). Overseas students welcome!
Students can access all course materials online 24/7.
