Dr Iwona Głażewska's specialty is population genetics, and her scientific interest focuses on the population structure and genetic diversity of small populations of horses and dogs representing three breeds: Arabian horse, Polish Hound, and Hovawart, evaluated with the help of pedigree and mtDNA analyses.

To make the results of my scientific work available for breeders and owners of the dog breeds studied, I have created a special web site (http://www.siczorlowska.republika.pl/), which has started in November 2013, with a set of popular articles on dogs (in Polish), together with the pedigree databases containing basic information on Polish Hounds and Hovawarts bred in Poland.
